You have been prescribed a Phothera home phototherapy device. At the point of prescription, your healthcare provider may have also provided you with a treatment protocol that outlines a starting treatment dose or time, along with treatment frequency. Before You Begin:

  • Always wear protective eyewear
  • For face, chest, or torso treatments, place the device 9 inches from the area being treated
  • For shins, forearms, hands, or feet, the device can rest directly on the surface of the skin
  • Follow your prescribed treatment protocol – adherence is key to success

What is a refill code, and how do I get another?

A refill code extends your device’s treatment capacity. When your current code expires, request a new one from your healthcare provider. They will coordinate with Phothera to provide you with a new code.

How often should I use the Phothera 200?

Your treatment frequency should be determined by your healthcare provider based on your specific condition and response to therapy. Always follow their prescribed schedule.

Are there medications I should avoid during phototherapy?

Yes, certain topicals and medications can affect phototherapy. Avoid lotions with UV-absorbing ingredients or photosensitizing agents like citrus oils. Consult your doctor about any medications you’re taking.

When do I need to change the lamps in my device?

Lamps typically last around 300 hours of use. Monitor lamp usage and refer to the user manual for guidance on when to replace them.
