FAQs

What is a refill code, and how do I get another?

When your device controller has reached its limits of prescribed treatments, to obtain a refill code, contact your healthcare provider to notify them your device requires a new code. You will need to provide the code shown on your device to your provider in order for them to acquire a new code. Your healthcare provider will then contact Phothera approving the refill authorization. Once your rep receives your prescription authorization, they will reach out to you with your new code, and at which point you can resume your treatments.

How often should I use the Phothera 600?

Your treatment frequency is ultimately determined by your healthcare provider and is based upon various factors such as severity and location of impacted area. A typical treatment regimen is 2-3 days per week, with 24 hours in between each treatment (i.g. Monday, Wednesday, Friday). To determine your treatment frequency needs, contact your healthcare provider. Are there medications I should avoid during phototherapy?

Yes, certain topicals and medications can affect phototherapy. Avoid lotions with UV-absorbing ingredients or photosensitizing agents like citrus oils. Consult your doctor about any medications you’re taking.

When do I need to change the lamps in my device?

The lifespan of lamps in phototherapy devices can vary depending on the model of lamps and device type, but typically last around 300 hours of use. It’s important to monitor lamp usage and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure optimal treatment results and device efficiency.
